We were watching a movie a few weeks ago—a kid had been kidnapped, and the parents hired a private contractor to go get him. When the contractor arrived on scene his handler brought him up to speed on everything they knew. He asked a penetrating question in just three words, “proof of life?” I have heard the term a lot, mainly in movies, occasionally in books, never in real life, but this time when I heard it something started rattling around in my mind. It eventually left my mind and came to rest on my heart. It was there that a sermon built around these same three words “proof of life” came to be a reality that quickly turned into two sermons. I’m pretty excited to keep studying and building these messages, but more excited to share them with you. That’s where we will be the first two weeks of February. I hope you’ll be with us.
